The media is dominated by male white supremacists, so I’m not surprised that this isn’t getting much coverage, but last night at the Democrat debate, the cis white-Hispanic male Julian Castro referred to trans men as trans women.
“I don’t just believe in reproductive freedom, I believe in reproductive justice,” Castro said. “And what that means is just because a woman or—let’s also not forget someone in the trans community, a trans female—is poor, doesn’t mean they don’t have the right to exercise that right to choose.”
Of course, we hope that some day medical science will advance to the point where trans females can have abortions, but it isn’t there yet. What Castro was referring to was trans men, who regularly get pregnant.
What Castro did is called misgendering and dead-naming, and it is pure evil.
It is time for Julian Castro to resign from the presidential race he enrolled in and disappear in shame.
Some men have vaginas, Julian – it’s time to get over it.
Whoever the next president is, they need to make it a criminal offense to misgender trans folk.
