St. Louis police have identified the man who was killed Friday in St. Louis’ Dogtown neighborhood.

Nathan Lavin, 34, of Kansasville, Wis., was fatally shot about 5:30 p.m. on Halloween in the parking lot of a Subway in the 1200 block of Hampton Avenue. Lavin was shot in the neck and was pronounced dead at a hospital, police said.

Lavin’s two dogs were also shot and killed.

On Wednesday, police also released surveillance photos showing two vehicles wanted in connection with the shooting.

Police investigate the scene of the crime, where a White man and his two dogs were all slain by marauding Black savages.

One photo shows Lavin’s vehicle, a late-2000s dark-gray Honda Pilot with a large bike rack attached to the back. It was taken from the scene.

The photo of the other vehicle, also seen fleeing the scene, shows a gold Buick LeSabre with tinted windows, possibly a late-1990s or early-2000s model.

Lavin was a native of Milwaukee and an avid film and music aficionado, according to an online obituary. He worked on the sets of several major films and was a producer and sound designer for an independent film. As a disc jockey known as DJ Soultwist, Lavin once opened for St. Louis rapper Nelly as well as other musical acts.
