The Communications director for the Democratic national Committee thought this was a good idea, and told his employees to run with it.

To be fair though, this is the human material he’s dealing with:

To make no mention of his own Beaner ancestry.

As far as I’m aware, no news coverage brought this thing to light back in May when they were discussing this. So, it either completely flopped, or they decided against it in the end.

But it’s a great illustration of the character of these people.
