This is pretty incredible.
Two miles is ten seconds, meaning you have to not only gauge all the wind and other factors involved, but you’ve gotta predict the movement of the target.
Bravo.
RT:
A sniper for Canada’s elite special forces in Iraq has broken the world record for the longest confirmed kill shot, the country’s military has confirmed to several media. The fatal shot targeted a member of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL).
“The Canadian Special Operations Command can confirm that a member of Joint Task Force 2 successfully hit a target at 3,540 meters (2.19 miles),” the unit said in a Thursday statement.
“For operational security reasons and to preserve the safety of our personnel and our Coalition partners we will not discuss precise details on when and how this incident took place.”
However, the Globe and Mail – the first to report on the incident – said that the operation took place “within the last month.”
The sniper used a McMillan TAC-50 sniper rifle when firing at the militant from a high-rise building. The shot reportedly took less than 10 seconds to hit the IS fighter.
Hey – at least the TAC-50 is designed by an American company…
The achievement marks a new world record for sniper kill shots. The previous record was held by British sniper Craig Harrison, who shot a Taliban fighter with a 338 Lapua Magnum rifle from about 2,475 meters (1.53 miles) away in 2009.
The .338 Lapua Magnum was designed by Norwegian though…
“The shot in question actually disrupted a Daesh (IS) attack on Iraqi security forces,” a military source told the newspaper. “Instead of dropping a bomb that could potentially kill civilians in the area, it is a very precise application of force and because it was so far way, the bad guys didn’t have a clue what was happening.”
The kill was independently verified by video footage and other data, according to the newspaper.
Embarrassingly, we’re getting beat by everyone in sniping.
In 2015, a Brit beat Chris Kyle’s record for highest confirmed kills, with his number cited as 173.
Kyle had 160 confirmed kills.
Though no one is really clear how sniper kills are confirmed, and there is no international standard for marking this. Obviously, distance is objective by definition, but it’s difficult to measure, when you’re shooting people often a mile away, whether or not they die – and sometimes difficult to measure whether they were even hit.
Like any sport, records are bound to be repeatedly broken as technique – and in this case technology – is constantly improving.
But I think the US has made the biggest, most aggressive attempt to faggotize the military, so a lot of badass guys aren’t joining because they don’t want to be involved with this:
I’ve often made that point that the fact that Russia is not faggotizing its military in the way the West is is going to be a huge disadvantage in this war the West is planning against them.
The basic concept of the West in their war plan is that they have superior technology and larger militaries, but I’m just really not sure that’s going to cut it. Especially given that the West has digitized its entire infrastructure, basically meaning that Russia can shut down the basic daily operations of the entire West through cyber war.
And I guarantee you, Russia is a lot more prepared for a ground invasion of Europe than Europe is to defend against one.
There is also no Russian ideology of pacificism, so effectively, the entire 15-35-year-old population of Russia will be involved in the war in some capacity.
Add that to the fact that in most Western European countries, the 10-15% population of Moslems will almost certainly use a state of war to attempt internal rebellions – and I don’t know this, but one would assume that Russia already has a plan to incite such rebellions in France, Germany, UK, etc. We know for a fact that these countries refuse to keep an eye on their Moslem populations, and we also know that Russia is extremely good at spycraft. And then, we also know that provoking Moslem revolts is about as difficult as provoking a woman into histrionics.
On top of that, you already have existing nationalist parties in every European state who would be 100% willing to form collaborator governments. Based exclusively on the assumed promise by the Russian government that they would be able to run their own countries based on principles similar to the way semi-autonomous Russian Republics are allowed to run their own territories.
So, the point is, when you take a full-spectrum warfare view of this planned Third World War, you end up getting a feeling that the mainstream view that the US is just so good at symmetrical warfare that they can just wipe Russia out is not really that well thought through.
It’s somewhat shocking that the West appears to be completely ignoring pretty much all of what I just wrote. I mean, it’s heavy reading, but I do take the time when I have it to read through some of the white papers produced by both the Pentagon and semi-governmental think-tanks, and they just seems completely oblivious to almost all of that.
