It’s wild that the UN endorsed BRICS and actually met with Putin, whom the UN has previously labeled a war criminal and issued an arrest warrant for. It sure as hell makes it look like this Ukraine thing has to be on the verge of wrapping up.
No surprise that Zelensky is mad, but you’d wonder if cutting off relations with the UN is the correct response. This puts the Ukraine into a category with Israel.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has rejected a plan for the U.N. Secretary General to visit Kyiv due to Antonio Guterres’s attendance at this week’s BRICS summit in Russia, a Ukrainian official said on Friday.
Kyiv was enraged by Guterres’s appearance at the event in the city of Kazan on Thursday and his handshake with its host, Russian President Vladimir Putin, whose forces invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24 2022.
Guterres – who called for a “just peace” in Ukraine at the BRICS event and has repeatedly condemned the invasion – discussed a visit to Ukraine with Zelenskiy when they met in New York in September, Deputy U.N. spokesperson Farhan Haq said.

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said on Monday that Guterres’ acceptance of the invitation to attend the BRICS summit had damaged the U.N.’s reputation.
The BRICS countries are saying that after the fall of the United States Anal Empire, they want to keep the UN, and use it as a framework for solving international problems.
If the UN is not run by the US, and is not just a total joke, going around whining about how they’re going to change the weather, it’s probably as good a place as any to bring countries together to mediate disputes. After all, it already exists, and virtually every country is a member.
Previously, the UN has tried to frame itself as a global government body. That didn’t really work out for them. But as a forum for discussion capable of mediating disputes between nations, it seems fine.
However, I do not think an obese person should be in charge. That is really ridiculous. An obese person cannot even control what they put into their own mouth, how can such an individual be trusted to do anything else competently?
