One illegal firearm is confiscated every 74 minutes by the Chicago police in this 69 percent nonwhite city, the latest crime summary report for that metropolis has revealed.

The report, quoted in Chicago’s ABC7 Eyewitness News, said that so far this year, the police department had confiscated 6,521 illegal guns. This works out to an average of nineteen guns every day, or about one every 74 minutes.

The report went on to state that “while the pace of gun crime appears to be slowing in the latter part of this year, gun violence in our city still remains at unacceptable levels.

“Officers continue to focus enforcement efforts around violent offenders with gun arrests being up by more than 22 percent compared to last year and total arrests down by 11 percent.”

The murder rate in Chicago is also up: in 2014, some 377 murders were recorded. In 2015, this figure had increased to 429. Shooting incidents are also up, from 1,885 in 2014 to 2,221 so far this year.

The US Census Bureau statistics for the city of Chicago reveal that 31.7 percent of Chicago’s population is officially classified as “white” (even though the reality is probably lower, give the federal government’s notoriously inaccurate classification standards).

Gun violence is almost exclusively limited to the numerous nonwhite gangs which regularly run riot over large parts of the city.

A survey of just a few of the more recent reports from Chicago prove the point:

December 4, 2015: US Attorney David Capp announced two gang racketeering indictments on Thursday, including a new one against members of the Latin Kings and one with additional charges against Two Six members. The indictment against the Latin Kings is the second racketeering indictment against that gang in five years.

December 2, 2015: Four people are facing felony mob action charges stemming from a Tuesday evening altercation at an Aurora gas station.

November 27, 2015: Four weeks after alleged gang members lured 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee into an alley and killed him—a slaying that some in violence-riddled Chicago called a new low—the city’s police superintendent announced the arrest of one man and vowed to “obliterate” the “criminal” group to which he belonged. Cook County prosecutors say three members of a Black P Stones faction had targeted the 83-pound-boy to avenge a shooting by rivals three weeks earlier in which a mother was wounded and her 25-year-old son killed.

November 25, 2015: Two men charged with the fatal shooting of a rival gang member Sunday afternoon in Englewood have been ordered held on a $1 million bond. Antonio Doss 31, and Kwan Ward, 20, are each charged with one count of first-degree murder, according to Chicago Police.

The same pattern plays itself out in other majority nonwhite cities across the US. According to data compiled by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, 552 illegal firearms were recovered in New York City, 3,601 in Detroit, and 1,623 in St. Louis in 2014.
