Police have identified a man who was found shot to death at a Glendale apartment complex.

They say he was 50-year-old Douglas Elliot of Peoria, a maintenance worker who was on duty when the shooting happened Tuesday afternoon. Elliot was found in the parking lot with gunshot wounds.

He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The motive for the shooting is still unknown, but Sgt. Jay O’Neil says investigators do not believe it was random.

Neighbors said they heard several gunshots and saw two black men driving off in an older model Cadillac. Police believe one of the suspects may have been injured.

O’Neil says the suspects have not been found, and the investigation is ongoing.
