Well, this is the best news of the week right here.
A majority of Americans are now concerned that the government won’t do enough to regulate how U.S. technology companies operate, according to an Axios-SurveyMonkey poll. Across the board, concern about government inaction is up significantly — 15 percentage points — in the past three months.
Why it matters: That’s a seismic shift in the public’s perception of Silicon Valley over a short period of time. It shows how worried Americans are about Russian meddling in the 2016 election, but it also reflects a growing anxiety about the potentially addictive nature of some of the tech companies’ products, as well as the relentless spread of fake news on their platforms.
What’s changed: In a previous Axios-SurveyMonkey poll in November, just after Facebook, Google and Twitter testified before Congress, only about four in 10 Americans were concerned that the government wouldn’t do enough to regulate the tech companies.
Now that number has jumped to 55%. Notably, 45% of Republicans — who are usually skeptical about government regulation — share the concern that government won’t do enough. Independents showed the biggest shift with an increase of 20 percentage points.
They aren’t mentioning censorship, but that is absolutely the biggest reason that the right is concerned about it.
If the left is concerned about some Russian gibberish – whatever. It doesn’t make any difference. We just absolutely have to get the government involved. Once they are involved, they won’t have any choice but to do something about the free speech issue. Right now, the whole context of the censorship discussion is “yeah but it’s private companies tho” – with leftists of course using this libertarian extremist position because it’s convenient.
The same people who scream “BAKE THE CAKE, BIGOT” telling you the most powerful company that has ever existed – Google – should decide what you are allowed to say should tell you where the left is at in terms of intellectual honesty.
I am not a libertarian and I don’t care about their beliefs regarding private companies. In order to have a society, you have to have government regulations of private enterprise. If you just take it to the ultimate extreme, you can see that: every grocery store is privately owned, so if all private companies are allowed to deny you service because of your beliefs, you could be forced to starve to death because you’re a racist.
Or they could shut off your heat in the winter and let you freeze to death.
I promise you, leftists want me to starve and/or freeze to death because of my politics.
But if you want to take it out of the realm of life or death, how about the phone company, or the internet provider itself, saying you don’t deserve to have these services in your home?
There has to be a dialectic between “total government control” and “no government regulation” – especially in a society as unstable and divided as ours is right now.
The Daily Stormer Situation
Unlike most folks, I’ve been banned from PayPal since 2014 and from Twitter since 2015. Other services at various times. I am the most censored person in all of human history.
But the banning of me from registrars and other backbone services after Charlottesville – ostensibly because I made a really mean fat joke – put this discussion into perspective. The actual goal was to completely remove me from the internet. I have been banned from GoDaddy, then Google, then over a dozen other registrars.
Furthermore, I have signed up for services and then been told my business was not wanted – so the industry is communicating internally about me, with someone warning companies not to do business with me.
So the “private company” argument is for sure not valid with me – this is an organized conspiracy by the entire tech industry to silence me.
Although I have personally been through total hell dealing with this, what they have done to me will give the government a reason to come in and regulate. My situation has already been cited by the FCC in a filing relating to net neutrality, and Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince, who is currently lobbying the government to intervene in the tech industry to stop political censorship, is using me as the example of why it needs to be done.
The current status quo is not sustainable, and everyone except the insane Jews lobbying for everything to be shut down knows this.
Censorship is a slippery slope.
Look:
I was banned from Twitter, and three years later they have just banned Tommy Robinson – a Zionist anti-racist activist who is critical of some forms of extreme Islam.
Last year, a move was made to completely remove me from the internet, resulting in this situation we have now where we have to constantly move from domain to domain to stay online – so if we stay on this path, in three years Tommy Robinson will be told he can’t stay on the internet at all.
And who will Twitter be banning at that point? At this rate, three years from now Twitter will no longer be a functioning website a because they will have banned everyone other than Anita Sarkeesian and the official ADL account.
These companies cannot do business this way. They are not setup to decide what is and isn’t okay to say online. And once they’ve banned one person, it becomes “how can you ban x person and not y person????” – because if you are banning legal speech, you de facto endorse any speech you are not banning as “okay.”
Because of the frothing-at-the-mouth madness of the left right now, the Silicon Vally companies that are NOT run by Jews want government regulation so they don’t need to deal with this.
This is the Most Important Issue
The Jews are too stupid to back off of this.
No, not stupid. They’re just biologically incapable of reflecting on the real world effects of their behavior, in any situation. And in this situation, that means that they’re going to push this censorship so far that the government comes in. As I say, they already have.
They bet everything on Hillary getting elected. The weekend after the election, the ADL held a conference entitled “Never is Now” (precious name, but they used a version of the Nine Inch Nails logo to advertise it, which I found strange – Trent Rezor was not a speaker) where they called for hate speech laws.
The conference had obviously been planned and the speeches written before the election, so they were planning to immediately start pushing her for these laws.
But something terrible happened to the Jews that November.
So with the plan of government censorship having failed, they went full-on with threatening private companies into censoring. And ironically, this is going to lead to them triggering the government into coming in and doing the opposite of censoring – implementing regulations which say that the internet is the modern public square, so companies have to respect our free speech rights.
So keep pushing this.
We need an old 4chan-style troll to get leftists to demand it. Get them to start posting memes about the solution to the Russian conspiracy being government intervention, saying they should demand it. Because no matter what, once the government starts regulating, speech is something they will regulate.
The SINGLE excuse for not doing it is “muh private company,” and once the government is regulating, that will no longer be an excuse.
Just imagine the government coming in and saying that all of us are allowed back on Twitter and we can’t be banned unless we say something that is literally criminal.
Just imagine it for a moment.
