This is such lunacy, it’s difficult to even frame it.
How on earth are we threatening Russia with a warship right now? Who is running this operation? How is it that the military just keeps running on its own, without input from the president?
The United States is preparing to send a warship into the Black Sea in response to Russian seizure of Ukrainian vessels and sailors, a decision that could lead to further heightened tensions in the region.
The Pentagon has asked the State Department to inform the Turkish government of its plan to possibly send a warship into those disputed waters, and has said that the move would be in response to Moscow’s aggression towards Ukraine.
Those measures were carried out in the Kerch Strait, which connects the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea. CNN was first to report the news that the US is considering sending a ship into the Black Sea.
The potential movement of the warship came just after the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused the Ukrainian government of undertaking “active preparations” for an offensive against Russia in the eastern portion of the Ukrainian peninsula.
The ministry indicated that the recent declaration in parts of Ukraine was being used as cover for those preparations.
Should the US send a Navy warship into the Black Sea, the move would dramatically increase the possibility of military interactions between Russia, the US, and Ukraine, which the American military has supported ever since the Crimean Peninsula was annexed by Russia in 2014.
The State Department must notify the Turkish government before a warship can pass through the straits in accordance with the Montreux Convention, which was ratified in 1936 and governs the movement of military vessels through the Dardanelles and Bosporus, which connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Black Sea.
Furthermore, the rouge military is engaging in a pincer maneuver, also sailing a warship into the Sea of Japan to threaten Russia – even while this is thousands of miles away from the border incursion, suggesting that there is a larger agenda than Ukrainian defense at work here.
The Navy sent a guided-missile destroyer into Russian-claimed waters in the Sea of Japan in what it called a “freedom of navigation” operation on Wednesday.
The operation comes as the United States and Russia are clashing over a variety of issues, including U.S. accusations that Russia has violated terms of the 1987 Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, or INF, and U.S. complaints over recent Russian operations near Ukraine.
The Navy said in a statement that the USS McCampbell, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer operating from U.S. Naval Base Yokosuka in Japan, sailed near Peter the Great Bay “to challenge Russia’s excessive maritime claims and uphold the rights, freedoms and lawful uses of the sea enjoyed by the United States and other nations.”
And here’s another fun time WWIII story.
The U.S. military flew an “extraordinary” Open Skies Treaty flight over Ukraine on Thursday in response to Russia’s “unprovoked attack” on allied Ukrainian forces late last month in the Black Sea near the Kerch Strait.
The maneuver is the first flight of its kind over Ukraine since 2014, when Russian forces annexed Crimea, according to Eric Pahon, a Pentagon spokesman.
“The timing of this flight is intended to reaffirm U.S. commitment to Ukraine and other partner nations,” a Pentagon statement said. “Russia’s unprovoked attack on Ukrainian naval vessels in the Black Sea near the Kerch Strait is a dangerous escalation in a pattern of increasingly provocative and threatening activity.”
Kinda gotta laugh at “unprovoked attack.”
The Pentagon’s ability to lie is a thing to behold.
Mad Pit Bull Mattis learned to lie when explaining to his family about the semen on his collar.
As we are well aware, back in what we call “reality,” the Ukraine drove boats into Russian waters without warning, then refused to respond when hailed on the radio. What exactly was Russia supposed to do at that point?
Clearly, there was no option other than stopping the boats. And the Ukraine and whoever ordered the Ukraine to do that knew that to be the case. The whole purpose of the incursion was to have the boats seized by Russia. They probably actually meant for them to be sunk, but Russia didn’t play into that.
How is this not obvious?
It’s just mind-blowing, the whole situation.
I don’t know how anyone can look at this and not ask themselves: what the hell is going on?
Look at the distance between the US and the Black Sea:
Now imagine that a border skirmish between a breakaway nation and the nation it broke away from, that far away, is worth starting a nuclear war over.
This is without even getting into the fact that the revolution in the Ukraine was paid for with American and EU money, which no one even bothers to deny. They were literally handing out $50 a day for people to riot back in 2014. The Daily Stormer was one of the only sites other than RT that covered all of that in English, but all of the tapes and documents are out there and no one disputes them.
It was Jews at the US State Department, in particular neocon Robert Kagan’s wife Victoria Nuland, who rand the entire program and planned the formation of the current revolutionary coup government.
There were IDF soldiers there leading the Nazis, lool.
Talk about getting kiked.
It is presumed to be Mossad that did the sniper attacks, though that was obviously never confirmed. It was confirmed by the Estonian Foreign Minister to the EU that the Maidan hired the snipers, in phone conversations that were presumably recorded and leaked by the FSB.
When Trump says that Putin took Crimea on Obama’s watch and it wouldn’t have happened on his watch, what he is saying is that he wouldn’t have been funding the revolution in the Ukraine that made this seizure necessary.
Trump understands this situation. Furthermore, Trump doesn’t want to go down in history (if there will even be a history) as the man who started WWIII over the border integrity of a former Soviet shithole.
He’d better start steering this ship.
Ah well.
World War 3 isn’t the worst thing that could happen.
At least that’s interesting.
Especially after the shit release of Fallout 76, I’m really pretty ready to try the real thing.
You will for sure be allowed to lynch faggots in the IRL version of the game.
