Google news.
One of my favorite aspects of the debate Monday was how Trump dominated the moderator completely, getting his way in every situation. He got replies when he shouldn’t have, talked for longer than he should have, and just generally disregarded the interventions of the moderator, talking over him with impunity.
The google was dominated by the White man, like God intended.
If massah’ wants mo’ time for his answa’, I be givin’ him mo’ time.
But all kidding aside, he did a horrible job of actually keeping the candidates in check, following the time-line an remaining neutral.
No wonder they hid his face for the whole debate.
If you were watching CNN’s coverage of the Clinton vs Trump slugfest, moderator Lester Holt of NBC was nowhere to be seen—and today CNN won’t say why.
…
If you depended on that particular news source, as I did, to watch Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump mix it up at Long Island’s Hofstra University, you might have gotten the idea that the debate’s moderator, NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt, was merely a disembodied voice, posing questions from a kind of nightmare limbo—occasionally heard, as he struggled to keep the candidates on time and on point, but never seen.
I beeee a ghoooooost and Shiiiiieeeeeeet…
CNN’s nearly 10 million debate viewers could be forgiven for wondering if the Commission on Presidential Debates was responsible for marginalizing their hand-picked moderator by providing camera angles of the candidates but essentially making Holt disappear, except when he introduced Clinton and Trump at the beginning of the event and shook their hands at the end.
One theory: CNN knew that their moderator would be strongly biased against Trump, and thought his credibility would be higher if people forgot he’s a google. So they avoided showing his face during the debate to make his interventions more palatable.
Either way, isn’t it shameful how CNN, a supposedly progressive publication, is minimizing the contributions of their brave African-American employee? I guess they were embarrassed to have a lowly google working for them, smdh.
