Because exit polls are still allowed to record race and gender in America, we can see without any doubt that if White men were really in control of the American political system, things would have turned out very much differently in the 2012 election.
Straight White men in the US have been systematically disenfranchised and stripped of their power. And yet, somehow, liberals, blacks, women and homosexuals – the people who actually have all of the power in America – are able to claim, endlessly, that White men actually have all of the power, and are part of a vast right-wing conspiracy to oppress them.
We live in a manufactured fantasy reality. This is the bottom line.
