Trouble in paradise!
Turkish politicians came to blows after a huge brawl broke out in the Turkish parliament during a heated debate over plans to extend the powers of Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Politicians were seen punching and shoving each other after the aggressive fight broke out during a meeting.
MPs were captured on film brawling across the benches as the all-out fistfight took hold, seeing insults hurled across the chamber.
But the undignified scenes are not the first time a parliamentary meeting has descended into violence.
Lawmakers in Turkey’s parliament were in middle of the voting on a raft of constitutional amendments when the debate over expanding the executive powers of the president escalated.
Members of the ruling AKP and opposition CHP parties launched out of their seats in the confrontation, which saw them throwing punches on the floor of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
The large group of suited men can be seen shoving each other and exchanging blows during the tense scuffle, as they aim at each other’s faces.
The proposed constitutional reform bill would give Erdogan the power to hire and fire government ministers as well as taking back the leadership of the ruling party and governing until 2029.
A lot of people are passing around this latest video of a brawl in the Turk parliament and being like “oh-me-gee look at these savage ass monkeys, we can’t allow this sort of thing in the EU!”
But me I’m looking at it like “wow, we should start having fights like this in the EU.
In particular, I would like to see Angela Merkel fight Robert Fico.
