Steve Bannon was on This Week Sunday, defending locking up children.
He hit on a lot of the same points I hit on this morning. Though sort of cuckily.
The host, Jonathan Karl, did the whole “omg but look at this picture of a crying child” thing. And brought up the Pope. I guess Franklin Graham has also signaled about the Mexican children.
Again, it’s such bullshit, because in 2015 Obama was locking up Central American children, and there was no outrage. Because everyone understands that if you incentivize child invasion, you just get a massive child invasion.
The Democrats right now are arguing that the rules should be different for adults who cross with children – that they shouldn’t be detained if they bring children with them. And Bannon did point out that this just means they’re all going to be smuggling children. Like, they’re not doing DNA tests to confirm paternity. People will just be grabbing random children as a free pass to get into America.
ANYWAY
The more interesting thing – more interesting than anything he said – is just that Bannon’s back in America, seemingly sober, talking normal, engaged in the discussion.
I was really mad.
He brought that Jew in the White House to write that book, then he told the Jew that Don Jr. meeting with that Russian lawyer was “treason.” He was like in a total breakdown. I think it was personal stuff. He is clearly an alcoholic, but that isn’t really a good enough excuse.
Boomers, man. Boomers.
But hey – if he’s back and he’s going to be cool, then I guess that’s the thing. I’m not going to tell him to go away.
I don’t think he should be trusted to run candidates anymore at all though.
Roy Moore was a disaster.
Complete disaster.
And it was that one Sean Hannity interview.
Where he cam across so slimy and dishonest. And that was due to Bannon’s coaching.
Moore should have said “look, I’m a Christian man, yes, I was 32 and I was dating 16-year-old girls, not because I’m a pervert, but because I wanted a pure virgin wife. I always dated them with the permission of their mothers, and I never got sexual with them, because I don’t believe in sex before marriage.”
It would have been fine.
Instead he did the whole “oh, I don’t recall…”
That was a massive, massive loss.
So don’t put Bannon in charge of any of that shit again.
But if he wants to come back and do commentary on TV, or start some new media outlet, then okay. I’m okay with that.
Here’s the other part of the interview.
