Germany has a website called “Refugees Welcome,” which gives the following pitch to Germans looking to help out the poor unfortunate victims of brutal civil wars:
Housing refugees in private accommodation provides advantages for everyone: refugees are able to live in sound accommodation, learn the language faster, and adjust to a new environment more easily. You, on the other hand, will get to know a different culture and help a person in a difficult situation.
A 20-year-old girl signed up for the program, and opened her home to a 26-year-old Afghan (escaping the brutal civil war in Afghanistan).
Here’s their beautiful tale.
Trial in Cologne: Sexually abused during sleep
Cologne – Because of sexual abuse of a person incapable of resistance, a 26-year-old received a prison sentence of two years and six months from the local court.
The man from Afghanistan, who fled to Germany two years ago, found accommodation with a 20-year old woman through the Internet platform “Refugees Welcome.” On October 25, he sneaked into his victim’s room at night and performed intercourse with the sleeping woman. When she woke up, she defended herself and fled to the room of her brother, who lives in the same apartment.
The accused’s first approach happened hours before the assault. “But my client rejected it unmistakably,” said accessory prosecutor Dr. Monika Müller-Laschet. The court deemed the crime especially reprehensible, because the accused took advantage of the young woman’s readiness to help others.
Yeah. Either “especially reprehensible” or maybe “poetic justice.”
I’m torn, of course, as I don’t personally believe it makes any sense to hold women responsible for their own behavior, given that they have the minds of little children. At the same time, they are non-stop demanding to have all the same rights as men, so part of me is just like “well, bitch – there you go, you got your wish.”
I do feel a natural male desire to protect and defend women. But it gets difficult, with stories like this.
