For some reason “Beto” O’Rourke has announced for a second time that he is running for president.
I don’t know if he forgot he already did that or if this is some kind of strategy to confuse and dazzle his enemies. Maybe because everyone thought it was weird the first time when he said he was the messiah, he said “okay, let me try this again.”
Unshockingly, he just rattled off a series of very common meaningless slogans, which is definitely intended to bedazzle friend and enemy alike.
2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke on Saturday formally launched his White House bid in his home state of Texas, and used an address in El Paso to focus in particular on the hot topic of immigration.
“If we truly believe we are a country of immigrants and asylum seekers and refugees, the very premise of our strength, success and our security, let us free every single Dreamer from any fear of deportation,” he said, referring to illegal immigrants who entered the country as children.
I think he is fucking up that slogan.
We’re all uncomfortably familiar with “nation of immigrants,” but I’ve never heard anyone tag on “asylum seekers and refugees.”
Actually, now that I think about it, it’s a little bit surprising they haven’t attempted to frame the pilgrims as “asylum seekers.”
Not that the pilgrims had much to do with the founding of the nation of America, but people who think that a colonist is the same thing as an immigrant won’t know that. These people think blacks are as intelligent as white people and are only poor because of slavery. The kind of people who are susceptible to slogans are not high-information citizens.
O’Rourke, a former congressman who failed to oust Sen. Ted Cruz in the 2018 Texas Senate race, was speaking in his hometown of El Paso just blocks from the U.S.-Mexico border — one of three rallies in the state. He spoke on a small stage in the city’s downtown, quickly moving through policy issues and pacing from one side to another while surrounded by sign language interpreters.
I loled.
This guy is some kind of bizarre creature from another dimension. I picture that his whole life is lived rapidly moving around and waving his arms while talking exclusively in jingles from TV commercials and being surrounded by people doing sign language.
I wish someone would corner these people and force them to explain what “diversity is our strength” actually means.
The word “strength” is defined as “the capacity of an object or substance to withstand great force or pressure.”
In the context of society, one would generally suppose that the first element of strength is cohesiveness.
Without even being a racist, you can ask:
“How does having people from a bunch of different countries who speak different languages, have different cultural norms, completely different backgrounds, totally different ideas about what society should look like, make our society more cohesive?”
Or:
“If you have two people working together who speak the same language, would their work output increase if you switched one out for someone who speaks a different language?”
“Diversity is our strength” really is the stupidest slogan of all. Because it cannot ever be connected to anything that makes any sort of coherent sense. There is literally no element of society that becomes in any way stronger by becoming more diverse.
Anyway.
I think Beto is dead in the water, despite his army of Jewish donors.
His hand waving thing is weird. Everything about him is grossly synthetic.
I’m also not really sure I believe that women find him attractive.
I don’t want to believe it.
But women are so disgusting and deranged, they probably do.
They’re all sitting around thinking “hm, should I fuck that primitive nigger shuffling around and stinking over there in that parking lot, or should I fuck that mutated-looking middle-aged skinny white man flapping his arms around while flanked by an army of sign languagers?”
