Fewer than two out of five primary school pupils in Birmingham are white, new data shows. New figures show 33,208 out of 90,869 pupils in the city’s schools were classed as white in 2016. This figure represents 36.5 per cent of the complete make-up – half the national average, which is 73.7 per cent, and the lowest proportion in West Midlands. Some 35.7 per cent of pupils, or 32,437, were classed as Asian.
