Houston police have arrested a suspect in Wednesday’s fatal shooting of a security guard.

Jeremy Wayne Miller is charged with murder in the death of 55-year-old security guard Daniel Arp.

Arp was gunned down while working security at the St. Joseph Condominiums in the 8200 block of Park Place Boulevard. Surveillance video showed the victim talking with a man before he was shot. That video helped lead to Miller.

When officers arrested Miller Thursday night, they say he tried to grab one cop’s gun and escape, but they stopped him.

Miller was out on bond for a 2014 murder and was wearing a court-mandated ankle monitor when Arp was shot. Investigators say he shot and killed Tremayne Richardson last July. Miller was released in that case after posting bond.
