A West Monroe man is being charged with second degree murder in the death of a two year old child.
West Monroe Police were called to Glenwood Hospital in reference to the death of a two-year-old child Friday night. The arrest affidavit reports the child “suffered major hemorrhaging at the brain stem, bilateral rib fractures, his liver was lacerated from trauma, his lungs were full of blood and his abdomen was completely filled with blood.”
The child was in the care of Eric Nabors, 25, at the time and the child’s mother says last saw him well with Nabors.
Nabors was contacted at Glenwood Hospital and taken to the West Monroe Police Department for questioning. He denied any abuse of the child, but said he left the child at home for approximately one hour.
Police also searched Nabors’ car and suspected marijuana was located in the cup holder at the front of the vehicle.
Nabors was arrested and charged with second degree murder with specific intent, possession, and simple battery.
