Tasha West thought she could just split up with a Negro and date someone else.

A Salisbury man who stabbed a woman he once dated to death then drove to a magistrate’s office and drew a heart with her blood on the wall has been sentenced to life in prison.

Tony Luther pleaded guilty to first-degree murder on Friday after prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty.

Tony Luther stabbed her to death and then drew a heart in her blood on the magistrate’s wall.

Luther told police he blacked out in a jealous rage after finding out 28-year-old Tasha West was dating someone else in May 2013. Prosecutors say he grabbed her hands while they talked and stabbed her at least twice in the chest.

Authorities say Luther was still covered in West’s blood when he drove to the magistrate’s office, drew a heart in blood on the wall and turned himself in.
