One of three teens accused of killing a delivery driver at a Tulsa pizza restaurant last year pleaded guilty Wednesday.

Jermaine Savory, who was 17 at the time, pleaded guilty to first degree murder. The judge sentenced him to life with the possibility of parole and dismissed one count of attempted robbery with a firearm.

Prosecutors say Savory and two other 17-year-olds, Damian Anderson and Frankie Jackson, killed Robert Horton, 53, as he unloaded supplies at the Papa John’s pizza restaurant at 11th and Delaware Avenue on March 23, 2013.

Horton was a military veteran who lived in Texas with his wife of 30 years. He and a co-worker were unloading the truck at about 6 a.m. that morning when Horton was shot and killed.

Police say Savory, Anderson and Jackson wanted to rob Horton but ended up shooting him.

The jury trial for Anderson and Jackson is set for August 11th, 2014.
