For the second time, Shaquille Jones has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for his involvement in the shooting death of University of Michigan medical student Paul DeWolf, court records show.
Jones, 22, stopped cooperating with prosecutors in September and had a plea deal withdrawn that would have sent him to prison for at least 18 and a half years.
Now he will spend 25-50 years in prison, according to officials.
Jones also pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of first-degree home invasion and one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree home invasion.
They are the same charges he pleaded guilty to before Judge Archie Brown nearly a year ago.
Jones will be available to testify against his co-defendant, 21-year-old Joei Jordan, whose trial is set for Jan. 20. Jones was also set to face a jury at the same trial before entering into the plea deal Monday morning.
A third co-defendant, 22-year-old Dajeon Franklin, was found guilty by a jury after a trial in October. He is serving life in prison.
