One of two people charged with the death of a 74 year old rural Secor man last year was sentenced in Woodford County court Thursday.
Rayshawn Johnson received a 50 year sentence for the dismemberment murder of Oakley Mitchell whose remains were found last year in Woodford and McLean Counties.
Johnson is the boyfriend of Mitchell’s former caregiver, Vishawn Mills who appears in court next month. Johnson must serve 100 percent of the sentence.
During his sentencing hearing, Johnson apologized to the victim’s family. Mitchell was shot five times , dragged to a burn pit and lit on fire.
Mitchell’s charred remains were later found in the Mackinaw River in both McLean and Woodford Counties.
