The blaze that damaged a Minneapolis duplex Thursday morning also left Wyndale Fayson, 32, with third-degree burns on his hands, according to a source.
PreviousNext The source said Fayson returned to the duplex on the 2900 block of Taylor Street Northeast early Thursday. Police received a call between 6:30 and 6:45 a.m. from a neighbor who lived downstairs. That neighbor said the woman could be heard screaming, and the neighbor believed Fayson was back in her apartment attacking her.
Shortly thereafter, neighbors observed the woman run from the apartment engulfed in flames.
The source said the woman originally called police between 3 and 3:30 a.m. Thursday to report a domestic violence situation. But when officers arrived, they could not find Fayson and left the scene.
When authorities arrived at the fire, they found the woman badly burned across the street, police said.
The woman was transported in critical condition to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she later died, Minneapolis police confirmed Thursday afternoon.
