Police named a suspect Sunday in the killing of a well-known Hammond business woman in 2012.
Authorities with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said Eric Selders is already in jail serving 15 years on a drug conviction and faces additional federal drug charges in Baton Rouge.

Investigators said they first received a tip in 2013 that Selders killed Mary Alvarez, and Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards worked with federal officials to get Selders off the streets while a case was developed against him.
