A Manhattan woman who was raped twice in Hudson River Park last year vented her fury at the sicko sex fiend as he got 35 years in prison Monday.
“It’s hard to grasp how someone can be so selfish and disgusting,” the victim, whose name has been withheld, said in a “victim’s impact statement” read at the sentencing of Jonathan Stewart in Manhattan Supreme Court. “You deserve much more than what you are being put away for and you know that as well.
“The feeling I have thinking of what could of happened if I hadn’t had the courage to run and scream for my life is almost unbearable,” added the victim, who was 21 when the Sept. 22, 2012 attack occurred. In the early morning rape, Stewart grabbed her and violated her in a bushy area. She broke free but he caught up with her and attacked her again until park cops found her. The nightmare lasted 20-30 minutes.
