Dallas police say they caught a 30-year-old felon trying to sell a 15-year-old girl into prostitution.
Arthur Lee Waters, 30, is accused of putting a prostitution ad with the girl’s pictures on the website Backpage.com.
Police said officers from the Dallas Police Department’s vice unit, child exploitation unit and northeast patrol officers rescued the girl Thursday after getting an anonymous tip. They arrested Waters and a woman who they said was an accomplice, Michelle Tortora, 19.
Police released few other details about the alleged offenses.
Police have charged Waters and Tortora with compelling prostitution of a child and trafficking a person under the age of 18.
Both are being held at Dallas County jail. Their jail log shows they have not yet been arraigned as of this posting.
Records show Waters had previously pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery in Dallas County.
