An investigation is under way after a woman was sexually assaulted and burned with a blowtorch on Detroit’s west side.
Detroit Police say a 911 call came in around 6:49 a.m. Wednesday.
Sources say a woman in her 20’s was walking on Plymouth near Meyers when she was approached by a man who placed a weapon to the back of her head.
He then forced her into a car, struck her several times, ripped off her clothes and began to burn her with a blow torch.
The victim was able to escape by stabbing the suspect in the eye with a screwdriver. She was nude and fled to a house on the 11000 block of Appoline in search of help.
Police are searching for the suspect described as a black male with a dark complexion, approximately 23 years old, 6′ 2″ and approximately 185 lbs. The was armed with a handgun and a possible blowtorch.
He took off from the scene in a small, 4-door, beige vehicle.
