The teenager who shot and killed a Seattle man during a botched cell phone robbery pled guilty Monday to first degree murder.
Byron White was 17-years old in February of 2014 when he tried to rob David Peterson in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood.
Peterson refused to hand over the phone, and White decided to leave. But when White heard the victim calling 911, he turned around, pulled out a gun and shot Peterson once in the chest, according to court documents.

According to prosecutors, White later told a friend he was disappointed Peterson’s phone was not a nicer model.
