Jurors convicted Warren Watson on all counts Tuesday in connection with the murder of prominent Lakewood lawyer Claudia Miller.
In March 2013, a cleaning crew found Miller’s body in a storage closet at her office. Watson was accused of posing as a client to rob, rape and murder her. Tuesday a jury convicted him of those charges.
“He started shaking and crying. He had his head down,” explained juror Penny Linder.
Linder was one of 12 jurors charged with deciding Watson’s trial. It lasted less than two weeks but she said it was filled with lots of difficult evidence and testimony.
“It’s been a difficult month,” she told FOX31.
When it came time for deliberations, however, she said the verdict was simple.
“It was totally unanimous on every count. I have no doubt in my mind that he was guilty and justice was being served,” Linder said.
Watson will be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for murder, sexual abuse, robbery and identity theft.
