A 23-year-old Arlington man has been sentenced to life in prison for lighting his longtime girlfriend on fire.
A Tarrant County jury sentenced Antonio Hales Jr. Tuesday after convicting him last week of attempted capital murder.
Prosecutors said Hales was on probation for drug convictions when he got into a fight with his girlfriend outside his drug supplier’s apartment. He doused her with gasoline inside their car, choked her and tossed a match in the vehicle lighting both her and the car on fire. She suffered burns on 40 percent of her body.
