Northshore authorities have released information on the suspect they say shot eight people after a Christmas night dispute in Slidell’s Olde Town.  Two victims died.

“Slidell Police and U.S. Marshals are on the hunt for 22-year-old Jamieon Chatman, who is responsible for the Olde Town shooting that left two dead and six wounded.  Chatman is wanted for two counts of second degree murder and six counts of attempted second degree murder,” Slidell Detective Daniel Seuzeneau said in a news release.

The detective also released some more information about the crime.

“According to witnesses, as the bars were closing, a fight broke out near the intersection of First Street and Cousin Street.  During the altercation, several gun shots were fired into the crowd resulting in eight people being struck by bullets.  Two of the victims have died as a result of their injuries.  Earlier yesterday afternoon, the two victims are identified as 22-year old Errol Scott and 23-year-old

Mark Womack, both of Slidell.  Scott was pronounced dead at the scene and Womack later died at a local hospital around 11:00 a.m. yesterday morning.”
