Police say Michael J. Soeller was not killed by a random act of violence.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the death Sunday of a man in the Town of Fox Lake as a homicide, and have identified one person of interest.

Michael K. Soeller, 43, was found dead in his home at N9938 State Highway 73, near state Highway 33, around noon on Sunday. He was found by his landlord, who had not seen him in several days, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

An autopsy on Monday determined that Soeller died of blood loss from injuries caused by an assailant, and the Dodge County medical examiner ruled it a homicide. Investigators do not believe it was a random act of violence, according to the release.
