Black Suspect Wanted for Murder Shoots and Kills White Police Officer

Thomas LaValley died after being shot multiple times by a Black murder suspect.

The Shreveport police department have identified the suspect in Wednesday night’s killing of a police officer as 27-year-old Grover Cannon.

The suspect is also wanted on an attempted murder charge from earlier this summer, according to reports.

The fallen Officer has been identified as Thomas LaValley.

Grover Cannon has not yet been apprehended.

LaValley was shot multiple times while responding to a report of a suspicious person armed with a gun inside a home at around 9 p.m. local time on Wednesday, police said. He was transported to University Health where he succumbed to his wounds.

In Jackson, Miss., officers have searched at least two Greyhound buses that arrived from Louisiana in a manhunt for Grover D. Cannon, the suspected cop killer.

According to UPI, more than 70 police officials, helicopters and remote-controlled drones responded to the shooting and began a massive search for the gunman.
