A man charged with killing an Imo’s delivery driver in Dellwood in November 2012 was sentenced Friday to 25 years in prison.
Earon Anthony Rivers, who was 17 at the time of the murder, was caught in a house with the empty pizza boxes and murder weapon, authorities say.
Rivers, of the 10000 block of Bon Oak Drive, was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action. He pleaded guilty on Nov. 17. St. Louis County Circuit Court Judge Michael Burton sentenced him to 25 years on each count, with the sentences to run concurrently.
The delivery driver, Brian W. Johnson, 39, of St. Louis County, was found slumped behind the steering wheel of his car in the 1600 block of Mowbry Lane on Nov. 5, 2012. Police say he had been shot once under his left armpit and was dead when officers arrived.
Police said three pizzas and a cellphone were taken from Johnson. According to court documents, Rivers had called in the pizza order to set up the robbery.
