Forest Park Police have made an arrest in the robbery and aggravated assault of an elderly florist.
The incident happened on November 8.
Pat White, 73, was brutally beaten as well as robbed and investigators say when she tried to give the man what he wanted he beat her unconscious.
The owner of the Red n Gold Florist in Forest Park was working alone when a man walked in with a knife and demanded money. Mayor David Lockhart says White opened the cash register, but it wasn’t enough.
“He was upset it wasn’t more and he commenced to beat her unconscious and so badly her eye socket has been completely destroyed,” said Lockhart.
White has been a florist in Forest Park for decades and many, including the mayor, have fond memories of buying flowers from the shop.
Police have arrested 18-year-old Juwanza Hoard.
