The man accused in the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old in Kalamazoo last week has been formally charged, and another man also faces charges in connection to the incident.
DaQuan Pritchett, 18, was arraigned Monday afternoon on open murder and weapons charges in the homicide of Christopher Lee Adams.
Additionally, Tyler Bishop was charged with three counts of assault with intent to commit murder in connection to the incident.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on Mount Olivet Street. Authorities say shots were fired after a drug deal gone bad.
Bishop and Adams allegedly sold marijuana to Pritchett, who apparently used counterfeit money, according to authorities. Shots were fired later when the groups came together again.
Adams was shot, and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Pritchett turned himself to Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety headquarters Sunday.
His preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 7.
