Blacks Arrested for Assault Robbery and Murder of White Man

Two people have been arrested in Wisconsin in connection with a deadly shooting in Winona.

The Winona Police Department said in a statement Friday that Lonnie Lavonte Keymone Hudson, 23, was arrested in Wausau, Wis. Thursday night after leading police on a chase. A warrant had been issued for his arrest for several charges, including 2nd degree murder, 1st degree aggravated robbery, and 2nd degree assault.

“The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office worked with the other agencies to try and locate the homicide suspect in Wausau, and they successfully apprehended that suspect here,” said Capt. Ben Bliven of the Wausau Police Department.

According to police, a second person, Kayla Maye Clay, 18, was arrested near Ettrick, Wis. and is being held in Trempeauleau County jail on preliminary charges of aiding an offender – accomplice after the fact.

Lonnie Lavonte Keymone Hudson has been arrested for 2nd degree murder, 1st degree aggravated robbery and 2nd degree assault.

Both Hudson and Clay are awaiting extradition hearings. Hudson is being held in Marathon County Jail.

“He’s going to have to go back to Minnesota at some point, but they’re just starting with that right now,” said Capt. Bliven.

According to police, officers arrived Sunday at an apartment on Gilmore Avenue to find Adam Tylor Fort, 31, of Winona, had been shot once in the torso. Medical personnel worked to save Fort, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said a vehicle used in the shooting was also recovered Thursday, along with a handgun that was found in an apartment in La Crosse, which is believed to have been used in the crime.

The investigation is ongoing and police anticipate more arrests to come.
