What could the motive have been?

News Press:

Information gathered through an investigation led the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit to a shallow grave site where human remains were found in a heavily wooded lot at 5902 Sally Avenue N.

Matthew Collins was last seen on Oct. 12, around 5 p.m., when he left his residence to get a haircut.

Six days after Collins was last seen, his vehicle was recovered in Lehigh Acres. Investigators said it was apparent Collins was a victim of foul play as there was a bullet hole in the front windshield and blood inside of the car.

LCSO detectives were able to link Aria Armstead, 19, and Nathan Ortiz, 21, 5901 N Sally, who live across the street from where Collins was found, to the killing.

Armstead has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of tampering with physical evidence.
