If the BNP doesn't like Nick Griffin, they're going to have to find someone else.
If the BNP doesn’t like Nick Griffin, they’re going to have to find someone else.

The British National party received only 1,667 votes in the election this week, down from 563,743 in 2010, The Independent reports.

The second least popular party, they were beaten by both Cannabis Is Safer Than Alcohol and Monster Raving Loony Party.

To be fair, this probably mostly has to do with BNP voters going with UKIP instead, which made the most sense, given the circumstances.  So it isn’t really fair to act like “oh look BNP failed,” because a large percentage of those who voted UKIP agree with BNP policy.

Though I still don’t think it was the greatest idea to fire Griffin.

The fact remains that the policies of the BNP are the correct policies.  Even if zero people had voted for them, this would still remain true.
