The scene of the crime.
The scene of the crime.

Three people were shot dead and one was badly wounded at a Jewish Museum in Brussels on Saturday. Reportedly, two of the dead are Israeli Jews.

While details of the shooting remain unclear, the Prime Minister of Israel was quick to come out and blame Antisemitism and “incitement” against the Jews and the Jew State of Israel.

The Jewish Foreign Minister took it one step further, and claimed that the shooting was a result of economic boycotts of Israeli products.

AFP:

“This act of murder is the result of constant incitement against Jews and their state,” Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement.

“Slander and lies against the State of Israel continue to be heard on European soil even as the crimes against humanity and acts of murder being perpetrated in our region are systematically ignored,” he said.

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman joined Netanyahu’s sentiment, blaming “anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic incitement expressed in calls to boycott Israeli produce”.

“The so-called ‘pro-Palestinian’ activities which… call to boycott ‘Jewish goods’ and aggressively act against the only democracy in the Middle East, are purely anti-Semitic and not part of a legitimate political territorial dispute”, he said in a statement.

If I had to bet on it, the killer is a Muslim, which is why we have yet to hear the details. The media is trying to figure out a way to spin it.

Or it could be another Glenn Miller-type scenario, I suppose. I sincerely hope it isn’t.

UPDATE:

One man is being detained and police are looking for a second man, but they have not released a description, which further indicates that he is probably not White.

Slight sigh of relief.

UPDATE 2:

The detained man is now classified as a witness, rather than a suspect.  They are looking for a lone shooter, but have not yet released a description or CCTV footage.

They are saying that maybe they will tell us what he looks like in a little while.
