Homicide detectives Thursday charged Marshall Harris, 35, with first-degree murder in the TV set stomping death of another man May 4.
The body of Charles Ferrell was found in an abandoned house at 806 N Osceola Ave. Police said he had been hit in the head and face with a large, old-style TV set and a glass jug, and also was stomped on.
Police say Harris admitted to others that he had beaten and killed Ferrell.
Harris has been arrested 13 times in Pinellas County since 2007, mostly for possession of cocaine, and also for disorderly intoxication, trespass and battery, according to jail records.
He was being held without bond Thursday night pending a court appearance expected Friday.
