There will be many millions of pissed off White Americans if a border wall is not built!
Despite the border wall not getting full funding yet, construction for various wall prototypes are set to begin this summer.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will begin building prototypes for President Trump’s proposed wall along the Mexican border this summer, authorities said on Tuesday.
Agency officials said at a news briefing that the department is ready to begin testing designs on land that is already owned by the government. Four to eight designs will be built and tested, but officials didn’t say when the process would actually begin.
“We own that land, have access to it and it’s a good place to start testing in a real-world environment,” acting deputy commissioner Ronald D. Vitiello told reporters at the briefing.
Funding for Trump’s border wall was not included in the budget submitted by the White House for fiscal year 2018, but DHS has allocated $20 million from other programs to pay for the prototypes.
This is good news as it shows that the border wall idea is not dead by a long shot. The fact that Donald Trump is now fully on the political offensive means that he’ll probably get funding for it later this year.
Also, the idea floated to install solar panels on the wall is one that should seriously be considered. It would create an enormous political problem for the Democrats. They’d theoretically be opposing border security and a massive green energy project simultaneously.
Trump has already said that they are seriously looking at this idea.
Either way, I just want that damn wall built. In many ways the symbolism of this wall is more important than the physical security it will provide.
