Cops Won’t Protect You

If you expect the police to protect you, you’re in for a bad time.

On one hand, we have Jews who advocate gun control because they hate the native populations of the countries they reside in, and don’t want ordinary people to be able to resist them.

But for your average liberal, their hate of guns stems more from their cowardice and childish desire to be protected from the harsh nature of life. They don’t want to think about the possibility of violence, and guns remind them of that.

Liberals want the “state” to protect them.

The problem, of course, is that the “state” has neither the ability nor the inclination to save anybody from violence.

BBC:

An armed officer assigned to the Florida school where a gunman killed 17 people last week stood outside the building during the shooting and did not intervene, the local sheriff says.

This is absolutely not surprising.

In fact, it probably represents the rule, rather than the exception.

Judges have already ruled that cops have no duty to save people’s lives. So why would these guys stick their necks out and risk getting hurt (or worse, accused of being racists)?

Deputy Scot Peterson has resigned after being suspended, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said.

“I am devastated. Sick to my stomach. He never went in,” Sheriff Israel said.

Earlier this week President Trump said arming school teachers could prevent school shootings.

The proposal has long been championed by the powerful National Rifle Association (NRA) gun lobby.

On Thursday, in the NRA’s first comments since the massacre, its head accused Democrats and media of “exploiting” the attack. Wayne LaPierre said “opportunists” were using the tragedy to expand gun control and abolish US gun rights.

Which, of course, is absurd.

Because even if police did protect people who are attacked right in front of their eyes, the odds of a cop being present when you happen to get mugged or shot at by a lunatic are close to zero.

“Wait, sir, I need to call the police before you start mugging me.”

Any attacker will have time to kill you and your loved ones many times over by the time police arrive at the scene.

The only immediate solution to the threat of violence by evil people is to make sure that good people are armed as well.

What did the officer do?

Sheriff Israel said Mr Peterson was on campus, armed and in uniform when the shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School campus in Parkland began.

He said video footage showed Mr Peterson arriving at the building where the shooting was taking place about 90 seconds after the first shots were fired and that he remained outside for about four minutes. The attack lasted six minutes, Sheriff Israel said.

Asked what Mr Peterson should have done, Sheriff Israel said: “Went in, addressed the killer, killed the killer.”

Mr Peterson is yet to publicly comment on what happened. Sheriff Israel said he had not given a reason for why he did not go into the building where the shooter was.

It is unclear if he will face charges.

He might “face charges,” but I don’t believe he can be convicted of anything. Again, we have a legal precedent in the United States stating that a police department can’t be sued for failing to protect people. Individual cops are also protected by a collective insurance policy.

The moral of the story here is that the idea of the state providing “safety” is merely an illusion. In reality, anyone can kill anyone else anytime they want, and there’s basically nothing the state can do to stop it. At best, they can arrest the killer after the fact. But that means nothing for the safety of you and your family.

It’s a man’s natural duty to protect himself and the people he cares about, and those that would relegate that burden to a higher power is a slave, not a free man.
