Recent attention has been put on a February speech in which Bill Clinton proposed flooding Detroit with Syrian refugees who would “rebuild” the city. So today is a good day for a daily reminder that in 2013, 91.4% of Middle Eastern refugees received food stamps and 68.3% received cash welfare.
That’s you’re money, fam.
These people are being brought into your country so that you can feed, clothe and house them.
And the benefits you receive for this?
No one knows.
We haven’t been told.
The only thing we’ve been told is that we have to take them because “that’s who we are.” Paul Ryan said that.
Barack Obama said the same thing.
Both were responding to Donald Trump’s claim that we don’t need these people, we don’t want them and we have no obligation to them.
It’s time for an honest conversation about Middle Eastern immigrants.
We need to know why these people are coming here. We need a clear explanation of the reasoning behind it, beyond flowery emotional gibberish. This program has been initiated by the likes of Obama and Ryan, so the burden is on them to explain why it is happening.
Once they offer a real explanation, we opposed to it can respond.
Right now, we have no explanation of why they’re doing it, so all we can really say is “this is stupid.”
