In case you hadn’t noticed, we have a new chatroom. It is located in the sidebar to the right and is hosted off site, so if the main site is having problems, the chatroom will still function.
Everyone is welcome, you do not have to be listening to the radio to take part, although there is a radio player embedded in the room which you can find by pressing the swastika icon.
We have the ability to open more rooms if specific topics are suggested and enough people want them.
It is hoped that this will encourage more interaction between site visitors and help avoid misunderstandings.
Private messages can be sent by clicking on the person’s name in the side bar at the right.
The sound effects can be switched off without affecting the radio player, by clicking the spanner icon.
Avatars can be chosen or uploaded by clicking the icon with a head and shoulders on it.
Refreshing the page should get rid of anything unwanted on there, such as whispering.
People have to register to join, which should cut down on unwanted guests.
You can see how many people are in there without entering, by scrolling down the login page.
So far the conversation has been friendly and good natured, with most activity around 7pm EST/midnight British time.
Regrettably, the chat room does not yet have much functionality on a phone, but we’re working on that.
Suggestions for improvements are welcome.
