Deep State Coup: McFarland Removed From National Security Council

Not one of the people we wanted out.

Welp.

More bad news.

McFarland was one of the anti-war and anti-globalist voices present on Trump’s national security council. She’s known to have opposed American military interventionism and defended Russia’s actions abroad.

In other words, you can be pretty sure that she was opposed to ramping up tensions with Syria and Russia, and this indicates that the national security council is being restructured to be more in line with neocon tastes.

BBC:

President Donald Trump’s deputy national security adviser, KT McFarland, has been asked to step down after just three months, US media say.

Ms McFarland, an ex-Fox News analyst, has been offered the role of ambassador to Singapore instead, Bloomberg and Reuters report.

Of course, that’s just some meaningless position given to McFarland in order to get her out of the way. If she had goofed up or proved incompetent, Trump would probably just have fired her.

But McFarland isn’t some random news analyst. She had positions in both the Nixon and Reagan administrations.

This is obviously a political move.

It comes days after Mr Trump removed his senior strategist Steve Bannon from the National Security Council (NSC).

The NSC advises the president on national security and foreign affairs.

Mr Bannon’s appointment in January raised fears that the circle of top advisers was being politicised.

Analysts say the latest moves show Mr Trump’s new national security adviser, Lt Gen HR McMaster, reshaping the NSC team appointed by his predecessor.

This guy seems pretty enthusiastic about waging war against Russia to help ISIS.

The previous national security adviser, Lt Gen Michael Flynn, was fired after just three weeks and three days in the job, after it emerged he had misled the vice-president over his conversations with Russia’s ambassador to the US.

McMaster, Flynn’s replacement, seems to be a full-on neocon. He’s publicly stated that he wanted to depose Assad, in spite of the fact that Trump had previously expressed his desire to work with Russia and Assad to defeat ISIS.

He’s also been praised by John McCain. I can hardly think of something more damning than that.

The theory of the deep state coup is becoming more and more difficult to ignore.
