Today was a really weird, gross story of a Black woman who had killed her kids and kept them in a freezer, possibly for an entire year.
A woman police say is the mother of two children whose bodies were found in a freezer as a crew carried out an eviction at a home Monday is in custody.
Court officer Lee Gordon said her crew entered the home at the Martin Luther King Apartments on Tuesday to clear the property. Just inside the door, she said, was a small, deep freezer.
When they opened it, she saw a body, she said.
There were two bodies and, though autopsies have not yet been performed, police believe they are a boy and girl, ages 11 and 15. Their mother was taken into custody as a person of interest in the case, Detroit Police Chief James Craig said.
The mother, who Craig said was found with the help of a community member who offered a tip, has not been charged.
Her name is Mitchelle Blair, 35, a person familiar with the investigation confirmed.
Craig said the bodies appear to have been frozen for “some time.” Assistant Police Chief Steve Dolunt said it’s possible they had been there for more than a year.
Gordon said the body she saw in the freezer had a black plastic bag laid on top of it and there was frost on the face of the person, who she thought was an older woman.
“I’m really sickened now to find out that it was babies,” Gordon said. “It’s not an easy pill to swallow.”
On a Facebook page believed to belong to Blair, a post was made in January showing an image with the words: “There is no greater blessing than being called Mom.” On the page it also says “Loyal To My Babies.”
Court documents obtained by the Free Press show Blair has four children, ages 8, 11, 15 and 17, by two men. Craig said the other two children are in protective custody.
Detroit Public Schools said late Tuesday that none of the four children were enrolled in Detroit Public Schools. Nor are they enrolled in the Education Achievement Authority schools.
Some neighbors said that they hadn’t seen the children for as long as a year.
“I been staying down here my whole life, and I never saw them outside, to the point where I thought that they actually moved out,” said Rocky Ashford, 18, who lives in a neighboring town home.
These stories are almost daily. Definitely more than one a week. We don’t always cover them here on DS, as the goal of this site is not to simply track the behavior of Blacks, and we do that enough anyway in the race war section, where we track their attacks on Whites.
But it is bizarre, the frequency of Blacks – particularly Black women – killing their own kids in weird ways. And it isn’t rare that they keep the bodies for long periods of time.
I try to view racial behavior patterns which continually assert themselves in terms of evolutionary biology. But in this case, I don’t really understand what evolutionary mechanism would drive women to murder their own children.
My inclination is to believe that Blacks just have a very difficult time, emotionally and psychologically, dealing with this situation where they are forced to live in White society, and so are thus prone to much higher levels of mental illness. At the same time, Blacks often seem to be dealing with modern society better than Whites, as they just don’t have the same tendency toward stressing out.
So I really don’t know.
