A Bunkie man has been arrested for allegedly raping a child younger than 10 years old.
According to a release from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office, detectives received a complaint Saturday from a local hospital of a child complaining of pain “after allegedly being touched inappropriately.”
The child named Fillmore Wright Jr., 39, of Bunkie as “the person responsible for inflicting pain on her,” the release states.
Detectives interviewed Wright, who admitted to the assault, according to the release. He was arrested on two counts of first-degree rape and a bench warrant. He was taken to the St. Landry Parish Jail for processing.
