JD Vance is literally Jeb Bush with a talking points update.
Boomers had money, so they liked this talk about free markets. They didn’t have fentanyl zombies on the streets. The small towns hadn’t been emptied out and burned down yet.
The situation is different now, so the talking points on those issues have changed.
But somehow, all the talking points still revolve around Jews and Israel being the single most important element of American identity.
Donald Trump Jr. predicted Tuesday there is a āvery high chanceā that JD Vance will be elected president in 2028, adding that he himself would ānever throw his hat in the ringā to be an elected official.
āI think there would be a very high chance, right?ā Trump Jr. said of the running mate of his father, who wouldnāt be able to run for president again in 2028 if he wins another four-year term in the White House in November.
āHeās the one guy in that movement thatās a politician thatās out there that actually really speaks to the America-first people and isnāt sort of, āWeāll be right back to the establishment,ā ā Trump Jr. said of Vance at an Axios event.
Vance, at 39, is half of former President Donald Trumpās age. If elected into office as Trumpās vice president, he will be the second-youngest veep in history.
Trump Jr. had pushed for Vance to be Trumpās running mate for months. Their friendship led some to believe he could be angling for a political relationship with the Ohio senator, but the younger Trump refuted those claims Tuesday.
āI could never throw my hat in the ring or anything like that,ā he said.
Instead, Trump Jr. said he would want to be an adviser for his dad and have the power to āblockā anyone from working with him.
āAll I want to do is block the guys that would be a disaster. Right? I want to block the liars. I want to block the guys that are pretending theyāre with you,ā he said, adding that he wants a āveto powerā to cut out those people from being in the administration.
He spoke about having wanted Vance or TV politics host Tucker Carlson as his fatherās veep but knows that Carlson did not āwant a day job.ā
Yeah, and you know the problem with Tucker?
Whether he is earnest or not, he talks about Israel.
He never would have been allowed on the ticket. Zero chance.

And yes, there is also a difference between Jeb and Vance in that Vance came from a middle class family and the Bushes are an old dynastic family. That is a great selling point, but it actually makes zero practical difference when Vance went to Yale and is working for the same people.
JD Vance’s twisted comprehension of his own identity – his name is not actually “Vance” – makes him probably much worse than a member of a dynastic family in terms of how easy he will be to control.
The results are going to be exactly the same: you hear a lot about things that you care about, and then somehow it’s “everything for the Jews.” You get little symbolic things and the Jews get all the money and wars.
That’s the way American politics works, and it’s the way they will continue to work until people decide to stop voting and start buying Hiluxi.
