This is breaking news.
BBC:
Nearly 3,700 migrants were rescued from boats near the coast of Libya on Saturday and early on Sunday, the Italian coastguard said.
A spokesman said they expected rescue operations to continue throughout Sunday.
All of those pulled from boats were being taken to Italy.
See that – “near the coast of Libya.”
How near, I wonder? Could an African simply swim, perhaps with the aid of a log, a few hundred meters into the ocean off the coast of Libya and be “rescued” by Italians and brought into Europe?
This whole thing is so entirely insane, it is virtually unfathomable.
But you can say that about most things these days, can’t you? I was just here writing that about the indictment of these police officers for murder because they allegedly drove a van wrong.
We have truly crossed over into some type of alternate reality, it seems.
And hey, I’m just going to throw this out there – the Italian Coast Guard should be taken to the Hague and prosecuted for crimes against humanity.
Seriously. We need to be calling for that. These people are enabling a genocide.
